Eligibility Criteria for International Scholarship Applicants

Satisfying international applicant eligibility requires proving non-Turkish citizenship alongside a stellar academic background. Candidates must submit a verified high school academic transcript that meets the university’s cumulative GPA criteria. Standardised test results like an impressive SAT exam score, strong ACT test requirements, or high grades in GCE A Levels significantly boost your chances. Students holding an IB Diploma requirement meet direct entry standards without friction.

Graduate applicants should present a competitive GRE general score or GMAT exam result depending on their faculty. While a TOEFL iBT score exemption applies to students from native English-speaking countries, others must provide certified English language proficiency. You should attach verifiable academic achievement proof, such as national Olympiad certificates or international honours. Compelling letters of recommendation and a clear statement of purpose essay form the core of undergraduate eligibility and postgraduate admission standards. Meeting the minimum GPA cutoff ensures equal opportunity scholarship consideration for all nationalities.

Mandatory Application Documents and Verification Requirements

To apply, you must upload a notarised high school diploma alongside official university transcripts for all previous coursework. Admitted students eventually submit a Turkish Ministry of Education equivalency certificate, universally known as a Denklik certificate. Ensure you upload a clear, valid passport copy displaying your identification details and any historical passport visa stamp. Include an official English proficiency certificate alongside two or three formal reference letters.

Doctoral applicants must prepare a well-structured research proposal draft and an updated curriculum vitae (CV). Write a persuasive statement of purpose SOP that highlights your career objectives and personal drive. When sending test results, utilise the official national exam certificate or direct College Board submissions via College Board SAT code 7100. Non-English documents require an official diploma translation alongside a tailored motivation letter. Creative candidates must present a portfolio for design, ensuring every paper is a certified true copy for your student visa document portfolio during the online document upload stage of the application checklist.

Step-by-Step Application Process for International Admissions

The journey begins with an online application portal submission on the official Sabanci application registration website. Ensure every scanned file is crisp before completing the document scan upload phase. Carefully review all options when choosing degree preferences during programme major selection. Submitting the file requires paying a non-refundable application fee payment of 30 USD through the secure Visa Mastercard payment portal.

There is no separate scholarship form; automatic scholarship consideration applies to every complete file evaluated by the evaluation committee review panel. Shortlisted applicants are invited to a faculty interview round before receiving their official conditional admission letter. Once you accept the official acceptance email, you can initiate your student visa application at the local embassy. The Turkish consulate visa processing period takes a few weeks, leading up to your campus arrival registration. Finally, submit your dorm allocation request, join the orientation week enrolment, collect your student ID card issuance, and complete your final course enrolment step.

Key Application Deadlines and Early Action Cycles

The primary application portal opens on the official application opening date, December 15, 2025. Applicants seeking fast-track reviews should target the early application deadline of March 15, 2026. The absolute final application deadline, August 28, 2026, closes sharply at the application portal closing at 1600 Turkish time. Submitting early grants early applicant priority evaluation by the financial board.

These dates dictate entry for the academic year 2026-2027. While the primary portal runs through a winter application window, a summer final round handles remaining programme seats. The official enrolment start date, September 2026, kicks off the academic year, with minor variations for spring intake dates or the main fall semester start. Expect your decision notification timeline within six weeks of submission. Keep an eye on the official scholarship award release dates, watch for potential deadline extensions, and aim for the priority funding round. Avoid any late submission warning to secure your place in the 2027 academic calendar, aligned with Turkish time zone GMT+3 schedules and strict admission intake schedule limits within each seat quota limit.
